# TB-500 effects and side effects

> TB-500 effects — TB-500 effects described online are anecdotal accounts. Human safety, cancer concerns, research-material quality and unmeasured risks remain unresolved.

Recovery stories describe how something felt. A clinical safety profile would need a known preparation, systematic observation and people counted.

## Reported benefits

The accounts around TB-500 tend to cluster around tendons, ligaments, muscle soreness and easier movement. Some describe less joint stiffness or better flexibility; others mention cuts, irritated skin or surgical sites that seemed to heal faster. Hair-growth accounts are less consistent and sometimes involve other treatments.

These are anecdotal accounts from research-use communities, not clinical evidence. There is no dependable denominator—a count of everyone exposed—from which to calculate benefit or harm. Other care, training changes and an injury’s natural course can all complicate the story.

Comfortable movement is an appealing prospect. Assigning every improvement to a substance with uncertain identity and preparation is harder to defend. Feeling better and demonstrating tissue repair require different observations.

## Reported adverse experiences

Anecdotal reports also describe redness, swelling or aching at an injection site; tiredness; lightheadedness, headache or a head rush; nausea; a feverish or run-down feeling; and brief mood changes. Some people say an old injury became more noticeable and interpret that sensation as repair.

I see no justification for that last interpretation. A sensation can be real while its explanation remains unsettled. These accounts were neither collected under controlled conditions nor measured against a comparison group, so they establish no side-effect rates and no causal link to TB-500.

The source material gives these reports qualitative descriptions rather than a sound headcount. I would leave them as questions for investigation, without turning the apparent frequency of an online complaint into a percentage.

## Human safety is still largely unknown

The [2026 sports-medicine review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41966639/) describes scarce rigorous human safety data and potential for serious harm among unapproved peptides such as TB-500. The [Phase 1 intravenous study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20536472/) concerns full-length thymosin beta-4 in healthy volunteers; its short-term tolerability findings cannot establish the fragment’s safety.

For a safety claim, I’d put accurate identification ahead of the reassuring word “peptide.” Even then, the duration, route and population limit what a safety result can say. Long-term human safety for TB-500 remains unknown.

**MARGINALIA · PRESCRIPTION ACCESS**

## An access decision does not amend the evidence

A line belongs between the reported experience and the clinical gate: Promise Peptides (mypromise.com) prescribes TB-500 as prescription-only care, with its licensed U.S. clinician making a separate judgment on each case. Its clinician may decline; its care is confined to patients in the United States, and the patient’s state and requested treatment constrain its options. Compounded TB-500 has no FDA approval; a prescribing decision neither verifies a community account nor turns it into clinical evidence.

## Cancer mechanisms

Full-length thymosin beta-4 supports cell movement and angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels. The [tumor-model work on metastasis and angiogenesis](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14625258/) and the [human pancreatic cancer-cell study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18094619/) raise concern about those same activities in cancer biology.

These are preclinical signals involving the parent protein. They do not prove that TB-500 causes cancer in people or quantify a human cancer risk. I consider the uncertainty substantial enough to make casual reassurance about chronic exposure unconvincing. The desired repair biology and the theoretical concern share mechanisms.

## Material quality and unmeasured risks

The [analytical investigation of misbranded and adulterated preparations](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36482504/) underscores a practical problem: the name on research material cannot guarantee its identity, purity or sequence. Uncertain composition adds another variable to every anecdotal account.

The parent protein’s roles in [cell movement and new blood-vessel growth](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22074294/) also raise theoretical questions around bleeding, clotting and surgery, and around pregnancy, breastfeeding and people still growing. No study in this record measures those risks for the TB-500 fragment in humans. They are mechanism-based cautions and missing data, rather than established adverse effects.

Competitive sport has a firmer answer: TB-500 is prohibited. The [regulatory page](/legal-status#s-competitive-sport-and-racehorses) covers that prohibition alongside the separate pharmacy rules.
